Pumpkin Muffins with Nutella Cheesecake

Pumpkin Muffins with Nutella Cheesecake recipe pictures

I haven’t completely gotten a hang of this whole blogging thing. For starters, I forgot to write my post on Tuesday. Sorry guys…it slipped my mind! On top of that, I’ve noticed that by time we post holiday/seasonal recipes it seems other bloggers have been at it for weeks. What gives? How is everybody else sooo on top of it? Although we’ve done some fall inspired recipes, this is the first pumpkin one! There are many others I want to try too, namely pumpkin doughnuts–swoon! But to prevent seasons from just blowing by us Kara and I decided we need to start Christmas recipes soon…as in next week.

Baked Potato Soup

Baked Potato Soup recipe pictures I am so glad that Fall is finally here. I am loving the cooler weather. Actually, just last night I was complaining to Cliff that it was cold in our house. I guess it is time to hook up the heated mattress pad and put the heavy duvet in the duvet cover. No more sleeping with just sheets and a light blanket anymore. I love that Fall is the perfect time to eat comfort foods. Soup, stew, macaroni and cheese, yum! What could be better than curling up on the couch, eating baked potato soup and watching the Bears game or reading a good book? I am not a big pumpkin person. If my Facebook is any indication, I am in the minority on that one. For you, what foods are synonymous with Fall?

Peanut Butter and Apple Sandwiches

Peanut Butter and Apple Sandwiches recipe picturesI wish I had known about these apple sandwiches when I was growing up. I wasn’t much of a sandwich eater. At least not the kind of sandwiches most people would bring for lunch. You know, like ham and cheese or peanut butter and jelly. Nope, not me. I think I took a croissant with melted cheese everyday for about 10 years. Maybe more? If it was a really special day I might get mushrooms on that cheese croissant. If we were out of cheese or croissants I would take a peanut butter sandwich. No jelly. I was a pretty picky eater back then. I remember at our grade school they would have special days when they would get Subway or McDonalds or something. I dreaded those days. You could not specify how you would like your sandwich. They were all the same. And it was never a plain cheese “sub,” which would be the only thing I would ever eat from Subway. And when they ordered hamburgers from McDonalds there were never any plain hamburgers. They all had mustard and pickles on them. And I do not go near mustard or pickles. So on those special days, I just ate my cheese croissant while everyone else had subs and hamburgers. Poor me.

Beer Mac n’ Cheese

Beer Mac n Cheese recipe picturesWhen Kara first suggested we make Beer Mac n’ Cheese I was hesitant. For one…I do not like beer. And two…I was confident I had already found my favorite Macaroni and Cheese recipe, I didn’t think anything could measure up to it. HOWEVER, this has become another favorite. We’ve now made it 2 times and we perfected it to just the way we like it.

Baked Pears

Baked Pears recipe picturesNow that it is officially Fall, we can start posting fall recipes. Look forward to lots of pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, and soup. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. It always annoys me that department stores start showing Fall clothes in July! It makes me want to wear sweaters and boots! The Nordstrom anniversary sale is the worst of all. Those catalogs come out in like June, just when it starts getting warm in Chicago! And they are full of sweaters and boots and Fall colors. I always make myself wait until after Labor Day to start wearing boots though. Thankfully, Labor Day has come and gone and I have been wearing boots for weeks. Love!! And don’t even tell me that Winter follows Fall. It is going to stay 65 degrees forever!
