I know not everyone in the world is a fan of sweets. Cliff is not a fan. He will eat the occasional brownie or scoop of ice cream but he doesn’t go crazy for desserts like I do. Unfortunately for both Kelly and I, we are dessert crazy. I truly cannot pass by a cupcake shop without buying at least 1 cupcake. And then I usually complain that either the frosting is not good or the cake is too dry. But do I keep going to those same shops? I do, because I am dessert crazy. It is an illness. If I could eat dessert for every meal I might consider it. Occasionally I’d have to break my own rule and eat pizza, pasta, and Chinese food, but I could live primarily on desserts. I wish that I could eat cake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Kara used to make a Thai-esque dip back in the day that was to die for. LLP = dip lovers. Unfortunately she can’t find the sauce at stores anywhere and so we haven’t been able to make that dip since. We tried a couple of other sauces but either they were too sweet, not sweet enough, or the consistency just wasn’t right. We even tried our own concoction, but not quite right. Nothing measured up to the sauce that we could no longer get our hands on. I’m not going to divulge anything else about this dip because we’re now confident that we can recreate it. Thanks to this pizza recipe!

I hope you guys had a great Memorial Day Weekend! The past 3 years Cliff and I had been on nice tropical vacations for Memorial Day. 2 years in Mexico and last year in Kauai. This year was not quite as exciting (I wish!) but we enjoyed our holiday anyway! Sunday we spent the day at our neighborhood pool with some of our friends. There was no swim up bar but Cliff brought some beers and we pretended we were on vacation! After the pool we had a barbeque at our friends new house. I think it is against the law to not attend at least 1 barbeque over the holiday weekend, right? On Monday we went for a bike ride, it up the pool and went out to dinner. Even though we weren’t snorkeling in the ocean or hiking in the rainforest it was a pretty good weekend.

Kara’s friends gave her this book for her birthday. Who knew you could transform cupcakes into just about anything… a golf course, lobster, apples, squirrels, the list goes on and on. When I saw these Dachshund Cupcakes I gasped.
