For many people Easter symbolizes the resurrection of Christ. For other people it symbolizes Cadbury eggs, Reese’s eggs, and asparagus. Can you guess which person I am? And although I look forward to Cadbury eggs all year long, I must say I am waaayyy more excited about the asparagus. I refuse to pay “winter prices” for asparagus so it’s a treat when we have it. I don’t know if it is just us or lots of people, but we always have asparagus for Easter. And I SO look forward to it. I am so excited for asparagus season or as others call it, spring!

Oftentimes I find myself laying in bed or on the couch watching Food Network and Cooking Channel. It’s a bad habit really since I will undoubtedly turn the TV off feeling ravenous. A couple weeks ago I was watching David Rocco’s Dolce Vita. I like his shows in particular because of the Amalfi Coast episodes. The Amalfi Coast is one of my most favorite places evahhh. Also, I think he’s kind of dreamy.

Does anyone else dream of pizza? Is this normal? Between daydreaming and actual dreaming I would say that I have at least 1 pizza dream per day. Please tell me other people have the same experience. Maybe not with pizza, but cupcakes or cookies or something? I would say that 75% of the dreams are coming up with different pizza combinations. What new things can I put on a pizza? That is one of the great things about pizza. The toppings are endless. And it is not just the toppings but the sauces and the crusts. And then throw in the idea of dessert pizzas and I could probably make a different pizza everyday for a year!

I know for a fact we’ve discussed Garibaldis on this blog before…how could we not? It was THE place to go on half days back in junior high! They had everything from pizza to pasta to sandwiches to waffle fries to long branch fries to grilled cheese. Not to mention Italian ice. It was heaven. Garbaldis closed several years ago and just recently re-opened in another part of town. I visited with my BFF a couple weeks ago and I’m not going to lie…we ordered an XL pizza.

Has everyone already started celebrating the holiday? I guess with the 4th being in the middle of the week the festivities will be a little longer this year. So far, we have attended 2 parties, went to brunch with my parents, and had a pool day. So far, so good. As soon as we got to the pool today the sky turned black and it looked like it was about to pour so we headed back home. It never did rain, and not 20 minutes later it was perfectly nice out. So, we headed back to the pool. We are really taking advantage of our new neighborhood pool this year. People are always having pizzas and sandwiches delivered to the pool and I get so jealous! I just want to sneak over and steal a piece!
